Canada is way too big. According to Google maps, London UK is closer to Budapest Hungary by car, than the distance between my town (Ottawa) and the Town of Kenora Ontario.
Of course, Kenora Ontario is not only in the same country...it's in the same province. It did seem like a really really long ways when I drove from Kenora to Ottawa. Guess that's why.

The fact my home town is in BC but the drive to Vancouver takes longer than the drive to Winnipeg always confuses people. Because Canada.

That would be the case. Montreal or Montréal as you wish is nearer to various bits of Europe than it is to Vancouver.

Winnipeg is pretty far. According to google, you guys are 16 hours from Winnipeg and about 12 from Vancouver.

It takes 12 to get to Winnipeg, no mountain passes, nothing but flaaaaaaaaaaaat prairie.

Yeah I actually drove through Sparwood on my way to Winnipeg. The divided highway gets really divided in Saskatchewan!
